Ingredients:
3 cups of flour
1/8 cup of water
¾ cup warm milk
1 tbsp yeast
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
¼ cup margarine
Preparation:
We start by taking the water and yeast to a bowl. The water should be lukewarm. Let stand for a minute and then add the milk, egg, margarine, sugar and salt.
Mix and add flour little by little until it doesn’t stick to the bowl.
When it already has a sufficiently firm consistency, we take the dough to the counter and knead for 3 minutes, adding flour as we knead.
When the three minutes have passed and once the dough does not stick to the counter, we let it rise in a covered bowl for an hour.
After this time we knead again to remove the air from the dough, if a little flour is needed they add a little.
We stretch our dough until it has a centimeter and cut it in the shape of donuts.
We take each donut to a waxed paper with a little oil, cover with a towel and let rise for another hour.
As time passes, we fry in a pot with oil at medium low temperature for 30 seconds on each side.
At the end, remove from the oil, transfer to an absorbent napkin and let cool.
For the glaze, we mix a cup of powdered sugar with a tablespoon of vegetable shortening.
Add a splash of milk and mix.
When our mixture is almost ready, we microwave for 20 seconds, remove and mix. If it is still too thick, heat again for a few seconds and mix.
To that glaze we can add chocolate or some flavoring and coloring to vary it.
To glaze the donut, dip it halfway into the glaze and remove. We can add some rain of chocolate, colors, peanuts and any decoration you want.
Ready!! We can now enjoy these delicious donuts.
